All 19 members of Britannia Movers marathon team managed to complete their various distances within the Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday 16th October. While the whole team endured various after effects such as blisters, bruises and the usual aches and pains all managed to pose for various photos and picked themselves up to head out into the town centre for a celebration in the evening.
All their hard training and dedication to competing in the Amsterdam Marathon paid off with some obtaining personal bests in their distances. The Britannia team also had an opportunity to wander round the Marathon expo and sign the Good Luck wall to show Britannia had participated in the spirit of the event.
While the team were there to soak up the atmosphere and test themselves in a challenging event; there was obviously the main focus of raising money for a good cause – this year Cancer Research. We’re delighted to report that the fundraising has now edged over £6000 with plenty more donations coming in.
We appreciate that these are difficult times for many; but if you know any of the runners, or even if you don’t, could you please try and sponsor the team for however large or small an amount you can manage. Everyone connected with Cancer Research UK will be very grateful for your help. If you wish to make a donation please follow this link - http://www.justgiving.com/TeamBritanniaMovers
Thank you from all at Britannia Movers!
